The Misfit Menagerie is the story of 4 misfit animals: Smalls the sunbear, Rigby the komondor dog, Tilda the angora rabbit, and Wombat (a wombat, naturally). The four friends are torn from their idyllic home at Mumford’s Farm to a life of misery and danger in Claude the Magnificent’s traveling circus. With the help of Bertie, Claude’s mistreated nephew, and the young acrobat Susan, the group must find a way to escape the circus and save themselves.

I had the pleasure of designing 30 internal pen and ink illustrations for the story, as well as the image and titles for the cover. Here are a few of my favorite illustrations:
